Terms of Use

Thank you for using ember. We kept this short.

1. These terms

These terms apply to ember, the macOS app made by mooha (the “App”). The App is distributed outside the App Store, from mooha.co.kr. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms.

2. License

mooha gives you the right to use the App on Macs that you own or control, for personal use and for work. You may not modify and redistribute it, strip its signature and distribute it under another name, reverse engineer it, or sell it.

3. Other apps

The App reads and controls what plays in Chrome, Safari, Spotify and Music only after you press Connect and only within what macOS allows. It may stop working if those apps’ settings or macOS permissions change. YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music are services of their own companies, and mooha is not affiliated with them.

4. Your records

What you write and your focus history are yours. They are stored only on your Mac, and mooha does not keep or back them up. If you lose your Mac or delete your records, they cannot be recovered. Please back up with your own tools, such as Time Machine.

5. Timer and notifications

Notifications work within what macOS allows. They may be late or not appear because of your settings, and the timer pauses when your Mac sleeps or the screen locks. Please do not rely on the App alone for important commitments.

6. Updates and distribution

Updates come from mooha.co.kr through an update tool (Sparkle). Automatic checks are on only if you allow them. mooha may stop distributing the App after notice on this page.

7. Limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is.” mooha builds and fixes it with care, but does not guarantee that it is free of errors or interruptions. To the extent the law allows, mooha is not liable for indirect damage from using the App (a missed notification, a wrongly kept record). mooha is liable for its own intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

8. Changes

If these terms change, we will post them on this page with the effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
